Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Meaning Density is operated by Mariia Kozlova, an individual based in Finland. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights under this policy, contact support@meaning-density.app.

2. What we collect

Data	Why
Email address	Account creation and sign-in, via our authentication provider (Supabase)
Password	Stored in hashed form by Supabase Auth — we never see or store your plaintext password
Check count & subscription status	To enforce free-tier limits and Pro access
Stripe customer/subscription reference	To link your account to your subscription — Stripe holds your actual payment details, we never see your card number
Basic request timestamps	Abuse prevention (rate limiting)

What we do not store: the text you paste in for a check. It's sent to our AI processing provider (Anthropic) to generate your result, the result is returned to your browser, and we do not keep a copy of either the original text or the result on our servers.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process account and payment data because it's necessary to provide the Service you've signed up for (contract), and request timestamps for rate limiting under legitimate interest in preventing abuse. We don't use your data for advertising and don't sell it.

4. Who else sees your data

We share data only with the providers that make the Service work:

Anthropic	Processes the text you submit for analysis, per their own privacy policy
Supabase	Hosts our database and handles authentication
Stripe	Processes payments and manages subscription billing
Netlify	Hosts the website and its backend functions; may log standard technical data (like IP addresses) as part of normal web hosting, separate from anything we store ourselves

Some of these providers are based outside the EU (notably Anthropic and Stripe, both US companies). Where that applies, they process data under their own compliance mechanisms for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses) — see each provider's own privacy policy for specifics.

5. How long we keep data

Account data: retained while your account is active, deleted upon account deletion request
Submitted text and results: not retained at all, per section 2 above
Rate-limiting timestamps: kept only briefly, on a rolling basis, for abuse prevention

6. Your rights

Under GDPR, you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, or a copy in a portable format, and you can object to certain processing. Contact support@meaning-density.app to exercise any of these. You can also delete your own account and its associated data directly by contacting us.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits (via Supabase's authentication library) — this is functional, not tracking or advertising. We don't use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
